Mondays?

Published by *Beckie* at 10:05 pm under Musings Edit This

I know a lot of people that hate Mondays.  Mondays are simply a day of the week that take the blame because it is the beginning of the traditional work week.  Usually, people sleep in on the weekends….even 8am is sleeping in on a Sunday- at least for me.  Monday mornings bring, once again, the warm feet hitting the cold floor….the brushing off of the car, braving the weather to go to a job that maybe you love, but maybe you don’t.  It is the first day of the work week- so even in places that operate 7 days a week, the administration is in.  Things are a little more tense.  I can see why most people don’t love Mondays.

Even for me, my Monday started with having to get up- just shortly after my love finally crawled in to bed.  I had to take Nellie out right away- so I didn’t even get to start the coffee pot first.  I waitied for her outside, where the wind whipped at my hair, until it was beyond much more than throwing it up in a know on top of my head- which I did a few minutes later inside the house.  Eventually I had to go back outside and brush the car off- while the wind, once again, tore at my hair, and forced my nose to run.  I started the drive to work- and realized that I wouldn’t even have time to stop for coffee.  I worked through a moderately stressful day- where I had to stay late.  I left work, and got home in time to let the dog out, change into jeans, and then I headed out to the 20-something Christmas party.  And that is where my day changed.

All of the misfits were accounted for, there was some conversation, but there was a ton of laughing.  I thought I was going to blow nacho chips right out of my nose.  There was fellowship, a lot of laughing, and memories made.  Oh, the memories.  But then, I can’t really go in to it…..because what happens in England, I mean, the parsonage, stays in the parsonage.  :)

It wasn’t such a bad Monady after all.
